Naphthenic oils are pure high-quality naphthenic mineral bases, obtained through refining petroleum hydrogen from selected crude oil.
Catalytic hydrogenation which naphthenic mineral oils undergo ensures the degree of purity to make the final product perfectly conform to the regulations on hygiene and safety currently in force. They also have optimal resistance to oxidation, good solvent power and extremely low pour point which allows the oil to remain fluid even at rigid temperatures.
Naphthenic oils are apt for lubricating machinery requiring oil to be supplied to the moving part through total-loss lubricating systems (drip, wick or burette oilers). Specifically, more fluid versions can be found in nebulizing compressed air lines with glass oilers supporting fast mandrels. They are also recommended in preparing high-performance greases as well as raw material in numerous applications (see process oils).
Naphthenic mineral oils are available in bulk and packaged.
